Troopeckers- Boardgame Design

Troopeckers
Chinese Checkers with a twist
Brief: The brief was to come up with a game/playful product for kids using any shape and/or form. This product could also be a learning guide or facilitator for elementary school children.

About Troopeckers: It is a three-player game, so two or three players can play it. The aim is to reach the opposite home zone (colored triangle rows at each edge). Whoever does so first, wins.
Rules:
1. All the players first choose their color of pawns and place them on their home zone.
2. The first mover moves his pawn one point ahead, moving only along the lines on the board.
3. Players can moves as many spaces as the rules allow. A player can jump over their own pawn or another player's if they are on the adjacent dot in their path in their path of movement in any direction.
4. The strategy is to cover the maximum distance with the most moves one can take in a turn by jumping over and planning the path strategically.
5. Whoever manages to reach the opposite home zone with all the pawns wins the game!

Making: First, the game board was made using 3 mm MDF board, cut out as an equilateral triangle. Acrylic paint was used to give it a brown base coat and a playing grid was on it. Next, movers/ pawns were made using WPC board. The pieces were measured properly, marked and given shape on a buffing machine. These were then finally painted using acrylic paint.
